Warren County residents asked to limit stormwater pollution
WARREN COUNTY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- With stormwater runoff being a major source of pollution for waterways, the Warren County Soil and Water Conservation District advises residents to do what they can to limit this pollution. The Soil and Water Conservation District provided a list of tips for doing your part.
How to lessen stormwater pollution
- Never dump anything but rainwater into the storm drains on the road as most of them connect directly to bodies of water which can be drinking sources
- Limit the use of fertilizer and other chemicals on your lawn to keep the stormwater runoff cleaner
- Pick up after your pets
- Don't put harsh chemicals down your drain because they flow into your septic leach field
- Drain your roof gutters
