Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez are not having a $600 million wedding in Aspen this weekend, thank you very much. The Amazon CEO was so upset with a report from the Daily Mail that he logged on to X to clarify. Usually he only gets on there to show support for Donald Trump, so you know this is serious.

On Saturday, the Daily Mail reported the $600 million number based on a “well-placed source.” That was then picked up by the New York Post. Billionaire Bill Ackman then quote-tweeted a now-deleted post from the Post, writing, “This is not credible. Unless you are buying each of your guests a house, you can’t spend this much money.” Tell that to the Ambani family.

Bezos quote-tweeted Ackman’s post, putting everything to rest once and for all. “Furthermore, this whole thing is completely false — none of this is happening. The old adage ‘don’t believe everything you read’ is even more true today than it ever has been,” he wrote. “Now lies can get ALL the way around the world before the truth can get its pants on. So be careful out there folks and don’t be gullible.”

Did you hear that? Be careful out there, folks! One of the most dangerous things you can fall for on the internet is a rumor that Jeff Bezos is spending $600 million on his wedding, when in all actuality it might be a much more reasonable $50 million.
