Shayne Ward reveals plan team up with soap star partner Sophie on hit TV show – after appearing in Doctors together

SHAYNE Ward wants real life partner, soap star Sophie Austin joining his hit show The Good Ship Murder.

He and Sophie recently worked together on the BBC soap Doctors where they played a warring couple.

In the The Good Ship Murder, Shayne stars as a a retired detective turned cabaret singer who solves murders on board a cruise liner.

Life on the ship is exciting and glamorous and now Shayne wants his fiancée to join him on board.

Loved up Shayne, met former Hollyoaks actress Sophie Austin in 2015 and the pair now have two children together.

Recently, they starred together in an episode of Doctors and Shayne would love to work with her again.

He told The Sun: “I know that she would love to be in it.

“Her dream is like an Agatha Christie.”

He added: “We watched a film the other night, Murder by Death, all these great classics.

“And she’s got great comedic timing as well. So I’d love to see.”

He continued: “I’m just all about next year about championing Sophie. and I can’t wait just to see what she’s going to produce next year.

“And if I get the opportunity to be blessed to be on screen with her again, then I hope that happens.”

The question is if Shayne’s dreams are granted – will Sophie play a detective or victim because there are a lot of murders on that ship!

Shayne shot to fame after winning the talent show X Factor and his debut single That’s My Goal reached number one on the UK Singles Chart.

He went on to play Aidan Connor for three years on Coronation Street before leaving in 2018.

In the same year, Sophie revealed Shayne’s sweet proposal, telling OK Magazine!: “I had told Shayne that if he was ever going to propose I would love my family to be there.

  • Lie With Me – Another soap legend jets off to Australia, this time its EastEnders alum Charlie Brooks who takes as a married woman trying to saving her marriage by moving halfway around the world after her husband had an affair. However it’s far from plain sailing, as a young and attractive live-in nanny comes to work with the Fallmont family, and tensions soon build and eventually, someone ends up dead.
  • The DrowningJill Halfpenny plays Jodie, a woman whose life is shattered following the disappearance of her beloved four-year-old son, Daniel. However, ten years later, the grieving mother thinks she’s finally found her missing child, and embarks on a journey to discover the truth about him. But has she really just found the son she has been missing for so long? 

“We were stood in the hallway – I was wearing pyjamas and my hair was tied up with a pair of knickers,” she added.

Sophie continued: “Shayne came over and asked if he could have a dance with me. I suddenly thought oh crap, he is going to ask me in front of everybody.

“I know it sounds weird as I’m an actor but I don’t like being the centre of attention.

“But it was the perfect ending to our lovely Christmas.” concluded Sophie.

Soap star Sophie played Lindsay Butterfield in Hollyoaks, since then she has appeared in many tv shows including Casualty. Call the Midwife and Tina and Bobby.

Most recently she appeared in the tv soap Doctors where she acted opposite Shayne.

They play a couple called Sandra and Kenny who are in hospital with their daughter but tensions rise when Sandra won’t let him see their child.

Shayne also took part in the hit BBC show, Strictly, partnering with professional dancer Nancy Xu but unfortunately was voted off the show.
