American Airlines has grounded all of its flights amid a “technical issue,” sparking widespread travel chaos on Christmas Eve.

“We’re currently experiencing a technical issue with all American Flights,” the company said in a statement reported by multiple news outlets.

"Your safety is our utmost priority, once this is rectified, we'll have you safely on your way to your destination."
