Swarovski launches ‘most sustainable crystals’ to date
Swarovski has launched its most sustainable crystals to date, the Swarovski ReCreated Crystals.
The new crystals combine Swarovski’s savoir-faire with its circularity framework, which focuses on reducing waste and keeping materials in use. The crystals are made with breakage from its crystal manufacturing process.
Multicolored breakage is remelted and transformed into a single new shade that is of the same quality as the group’s original product.
The innovation uses at least 40% fewer natural resources compared to Swarovski’s standard crystals, reducing the environmental footprint of Swarovski ReCreated Crystals by a minimum 34%.
Crafted with both ReCreated and classic Swarovski crystals, the Millenia range features octagon cut bracelets, necklaces in ombré blue hues.
Swarovski has also recreated its ocean-inspired Sublima Wave Chokers with its ReCreated Crystals. The choker is set with mixed sized crystals in its signature Meteora pattern.
Lastly, inspired by Swarovski’s signature emblem, a selection of its Swan motif jewellery is adorned with a luminous pavé of Jet Black Swarovski ReCreated crystals and is complemented by rose gold tone accents.
Each year, the group will launch ReCreated Crystals in new hues, adding to its existing colourways of Jet Black, Ice Blue, and Dark Jonquil.
