Giada De Laurentiis’ Tomato & Ricotta Caprese Dip Is a 5-Ingredient Masterpiece & So Easy to Make
Has the holiday hustle and bustle resulted in you forgetting about the appetizer you’re supposed to bring to your Christmas gathering? If so, you’re probably scrambling for last-minute ideas that will please the crowd and not give away your forgetfulness. Giada De Laurentiis’ Tomato and Ricotta Caprese Dip is exactly that. It’s super delicious and because there are only five ingredients involved, this appetizer comes together in just about 15 minutes.
“My tomato and ricotta caprese dip is THE appetizer for the holidays this year (and it’s soo easy to make) — try it and you’ll see why,” De Laurentiis wrote in a recent Instagram caption.
As the name suggests, the dip’s main ingredient is ricotta. You want to start by whipping your ricotta with some olive oil and salt so it’s nice and creamy. Then, place canned Pomodoro tomatoes into a food processor and blend until fairly smooth and creamy.
Place the whipped ricotta into a shallow bowl and spoon your blended tomatoes on top. Drizzle the entire dish with a bit of balsamic vinegar and then top with basil leaves, either whole or shredded. And just like that, you have a delicious appetizer everyone will be dying to dig into.
You can serve this dip with your favorite crackers, chips, or with some toasted crusty bread. There’s no wrong way to enjoy De Laurentiis’ Tomato and Ricotta Caprese Dip, so get creative. (And yes, eating it with a spoon is fine, too! We won’t tell a soul.)
