Copake man charged with rape of a minor
AMENIA, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- A Copake man was arrested in connection to a sex abuse investigation involving a minor. William Mair, 21, was charged with rape in the third degree.
The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office said Mair is accused of having sexual conduct with a person under the age of 17. However, the victim's identity and details about the investigation are being withheld to protect the victim's privacy. There is no danger to the public, deputies said.
Mair was arrested on Friday, Dec. 20 and was later arraigned in the town of Amenia Court. He was later remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
