Drew Scott Celebrates First Christmas as Family of Four — & Baby Piper Was ‘Mesmerized'
Drew Scott and Linda Phan just celebrated an extra-special Christmas. It was their daughter Piper’s first Christmas and (of course) their first Christmas as parents of two. And so the proud dad commemorated the holiday by sharing some precious photos and videos on Instagram.
In the opening shot of Scott’s carousel, he and his wife each hold one of their children. The HGTV star holds their 2-year-old son Parker, and Phan holds their 7-month-old daughter Piper. They all face the Christmas tree, and the kids — who are wearing the cutest matching gingham pajamas — seem to have their eyes locked on all the beautiful ornaments and ribbons tied around the branches. (P.s. What a cute idea!)
“Our first #Christmas as a family of 4.❤️???? Happy tears! ☺️????❤️,” Scott captioned the post.
The carousel then included a sweet photo of Scott and Phan sitting on the floor, wrapped in ribbon, and leaning in for a kiss. The parents of two look like they’re in total bliss! And then there are photos with Scott’s parents Jim — who followers think looks a lot like Mr. Rogers! — and Joanne.
Scott also shared a selfie video on his Instagram Story (See it HERE before it disappears!) of him and Piper sitting near a crackling fire. “Piper’s first Christmas by the fire…she’s mesmerized!” he wrote over the video. In the footage, Piper is turned toward the fire and making happy little noises. She seems to be in a total trance until she looks up at her dad and then rests her head on his chest so she can be even comfier while watching the flames.
We certainly hope Piper was just as content and cozy all day long. Last month, Drew and his twin brother Jonathan Scott revealed that Piper was not the biggest fan of her grandma.
“The first moment we hand [Piper] over to Jonathan, smiles and everything,” Drew said during an appearance with his brother on The Jennifer Hudson Show.
“The first moment handing her to my mom, cries right away,” he continued. “My mom hates it, it kills her.”
Aww! Of course, it does. Sometimes babies just say, “Nope!” to a really important person in their life, and of course,e it upsets the adult. But Joanne Scott had a plan to change all that.
“My mom was like, ‘Can you just print off a bunch of pictures of my face and put it around her crib,’” Drew recalled. “I’m like, ‘Do we want to scar the child? Or do we want her to like you?’”
And so now we’re dying to know — are there more photos of Joanne in the Phan-Scott household? Did Piper have a Merry Christmas with her grandma? Or were there tears when they gathered around the tree? We certainly have our fingers crossed for the former!
