for the attention of all the miserable vile wums (6 replies)

Please bear with me, as i have an analogy which might explain things.
I play in a pool league where there is one very good team, a few decent ones, some average (like my team) and some not so good. When playing the different level teams we have to strategise to improve our chances of winning. When we are playing the not so good we just play our normal games, nothing too attacking because they will make mistakes and let us win. When playing the very good team we have to mix it up a bit by being defensive and hope they make a mistake. However, they are very good and know that they can do most things better than us and although occasionally we (or the other teams) do get lucky or play really well they usually win.
The last 10 seasons this same team has won the league. They have done this by being consistently better than the rest and by not worrying when things occasionally go wrong or when they scrape past a bad team. They are confident in their ability and even though they are not always pretty to watch they are happy to sit top of the league and let their results do the talking.

Sounds like me to be a BLUEprint that the best teams in their respective leagues should follow. May be those of you who are only happy when we have 99.9% possession, 100 shots to nil (all on target) and win by record scores should remember that winning makes some of us happy, being top of the league makes nearly all of us happy and winning the league is something all 92 league teams aspire to but only 4 will achieve.
