Church Point mother, son arrested, another son wanted in connection with shooting

CHURCH POINT, La. (KLFY) -- A mother and son were arrested Friday, and another son is wanted but still at large, in connection with a shooting incident in Church Point two weeks ago, authorities said.

Mindy Aymond, 39, and Keegan Aymond, 19, were arrested by Church Point Police after a search of their home on N. Huckaby Street.

The search warrant executed Friday stems from an incident on Dec. 14, when shots were allegedly fired from the residence and hit another house in the neighborhood, officials said.

During the search illegal drugs and bullets matching the ones fired that night were found.

Mindy Aymond was arrested for an outstanding warrant for obstruction of justice. Keegan Aymond was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Kameron Aymond, 21, the suspected shooter, was not at the residence and is still at large. He is wanted on charges of aggravated assault with firearm, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated criminal property damage and illegal discharge of a firearm. He is also wanted on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm and another count of convicted felon in possession of a firearm from a separate incident, officials said.

Anyone knowing the location of Kameron Aymond is asked to contact their local law enforcement agency or the Church Point Police Department at 337-684-5455. He is considered armed and anyone who is caught aiding and abetting and harboring Kameron will be charged, authorities said.
