WATCH: Rohit Sharma loses his cool as Yashasvi Jaiswal drops Marnus Labuschagne’s catch on Day 4 of MCG Test

Indian captain Rohit Sharma was seen frustrated on Day 4 of the ongoing 4th test at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal had a fumble in the slip cordon as he dropped important catches. In the 40th over of the innings, Jaiswal dropper the catch of Marnus Labuschagne which was towards his left. He stretched both his hands to get the ball, but could not hang on to it. Rohit threw a tantrum as he threw his hands in the air along with shouting in anger as the catch went down.

Labuschagne was on 46 runs when his catch got dropped. Akash Deep was looking for his first wicket in there as well. Australia might have been at 99/7 in case if Jaiswal had not dropped the catch. Since he got a second chance to score, Labuschagne posted 70 off 139 balls. eventually, he got taken down by Mohammed Siraj during third session of the day.

Apart from Labuschagne’s catch, Jaiswal had also dropped two more catches on Day 4. The first one got dropped was during the third over of the innings. This was when Usman Khawaja edged a ball off Jasprit Bumrah towards the leg gully. Khawaja also got dismissed by Siraj after he had scored 21 runs.

The third dropped catch was of captain Pat Cummins. Ravindra Jadeja was bowling that time, and Jaiswal was at silly point. Cummins defended he ball, but did not have control. He was not in a good position and the ball slipped out of his hands yet again. If he had stayed low, the catch might have been secured.
