Six most savage celebrity feuds in 2024 – from Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby to Strictly and Towie stars

WHILE the world of showbiz is famed for luvvie friendships and air kisses, this year it has been rocked by some pretty epic fallouts too.

From Holly and Phil, to Strictly Come Dancing‘s Giovanni and Amanda, some monster feuds have reached fever pitch over the past 12 months.

Here, we take a look back at the biggest celebrity bust-ups of 2024 – and whether ANY have air kissed and made up.

PHIL Vs Holly

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby‘s feud began last year, but it certainly stepped up a notch in 2024.

Their fallout is believed to have started after Holly had asked to present This Morning alone to celebrate International Women’s Day – and Phillip refused.

Phillip went on to quit This Morning in May 2023 but their argument wasn’t anywhere near to stopping when the year came to a close.

In fact, things ended up at boiling point when Phillip made his big television comeback with his one-man documentary Cast Away in October 2024.

While deserted on an island in the middle of nowhere, Phil lashed out at an unnamed trio for ‘ruining his career’ who he branded “three s***s”.

The Sun later revealed the three people were Holly and his former ITV bosses Martin Frizell and Emma Gormley.

Friends told us Phil now brands Holly – once one of his closest friends – as “the witch” who he accused directly of “bringing me down”.

He is even said to use a hatted hags emoji when discussing her with pals if she comes up.

A 2025 reconciliation is highly unlikely.

Amanda Vs Giovanni

Strictly Come Dancing faced its biggest crisis in the show’s history this year thanks to Amanda Abbington and Giovanni Pernice‘s feud.

The pair dramatically fell out after competing together on Strictly in 2023.

The BBC later launched an investigation into complaints made against pro dancer Giovanni Pernice[/caption]

Amanda withdrew from the BBC dance competition after six weeks citing “medical reasons” and all appeared to go quiet.

But in January 2024, it was reported that Amanda had been diagnosed with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) following her stint on the show.

Five months later, the BBC launched an investigation into complaints made against Italian professional dancer Giovanni.

In July, with the probe still underway, Amanda gave a bombshell interview to Channel 4 News anchor Krishnan-Guru Murthy.

She told him: “It was unnecessary and when stuff was getting thrown at me I’d shut down because I’ve been in abusive situations before in the past so I recognised the red flags, so I’d shut down and wouldn’t be able to do it because I felt attacked, not literally attacked.”

The BBC’s investigation eventually concluded in October, with the BBC upholding six of the 17 complaints against Giovanni, and apologised publicly to Amanda. Giovanni was cleared of the more serious allegations.

Neither of the stars have remained silent, however.

After the results of the inquiry were revealed, Amanda told The Sun about her “toxic” rehearsals with Giovanni.

“It descended into him calling me names, saying I was stupid and lazy, that I danced like a vegetable,” she said.

“It was an onslaught of being told you’re not good enough.”

Amanda added: “He’d say, ‘I’ve got the keys to a f***ing Ferrari, but I’ve got an old banger in front of me that I can’t get into’. I tried so hard to make it work and that’s what was so upsetting.”

Giovanni returned to television with an appearance on Lorraine and, although he said his teaching methods are strict, he insisted would not be changing them.

The dancer also denied ever clashing with the actress in the rehearsal room, despite her claims he made offensive comments towards her.

Amanda later hit back and branded Giovanni “delusional” following his Lorraine interview.

Spice Girls Vs Geri Halliwell

Geri Halliwell was this year accused of ‘derailing’ a mega bucks TV deal for the Spice Girls – which has resulted in a fallout.

Insiders said all five members of the 90s pop band – Geri, Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham, Mel C and Mel B – were approached about a TV drama series which would land them £1million each.

Talks took place with Left Bank Pictures, the firm behind Netflix hit The Crown, and they were said to be ‘positive’.

But The Sun learned in November that plans fell through in the summer when Geri put the brakes on.

Ginger Spice, who is married to F1 boss husband Christian Horner, apparently began talking about working on her own show instead.

A source said: “It would have seen five actresses taking on the roles of Posh, Ginger, Scary, Sporty and Baby.

“The venture would have landed them all pay deals of around £1million for essentially not lifting a finger.

“But as the negotiations ramped up, the others were told Geri had objected.

“The plans have basically been thrown out. They wanted to have the agreement of all of the band and without Geri it’s hard to make it happen.”

The revelation came after another insider claimed Geri and Christian were spotted being followed by a camera crew in Los Angeles.

This isn’t the first time Geri has fallen out with her Spice Girls bandmates. Geri dramatically quit the pop band in 1998, leaving fans devastated.

In later years, she rejoined them for two tours but the five-piece have not performed together since the 2012 London Olympics.

They were last reunited for Victoria’s 50th birthday this summer but insiders said there was tension between Geri and Mel B.

Harry Vs Junaid

The Only Way Is Essex has been rocked by plenty of bust-ups and drama since the show began in 2011 – and 2024 was no different.

This year, the biggest beef ended up being between Harry Derbidge and Junaid Ahmed.

Harry Derbidge’s best friend Junaid Ahmed left him in tears on Towie
Their fallout was sparked when Junaid began dating Harry’s ex-fiancé Joe Blackman

Harry sailed into 2024 with new man Joe Blackman on his arm and their relationship quickly went from strength to strength.

By the summer, things were so good they had started planning a wedding in Las Vegas. Joe – who has a son from a previous relationship – even discussed having more children with Harry.

One niggle to affect the romance, however, was Harry’s pal Junaid.

Joe clashed with Junaid after he was caught spreading rumours that the couple weren’t happy together.

In one episode, Joe raged to Junaid: “I’ve heard that you’ve been coming round my house, having nice Nandos with us, actually had a nice time.

“Then you would then go from my house, go see your mates and tell them I’ve been slagging them off, which is not true. You know it ain’t true.”

It therefore came as a massive shock to fans and the Towie cast when Harry and Joe announced their split in August – and Joe began DATING Junaid.

Harry was later seen breaking down in tears on Towie as he confronted Junaid for sleeping with his ex.

Harry told him: “You clearly don’t care. You were my best friend. You know how f****** much I loved him. You should never have done it.”

Towie OG Harry has since unfollowed both his ex Joe and his ex friend Junaid on social media.

Gregg Vs John

Gregg Wallace has found himself very much centre stage as 2024 comes to a close.

The MasterChef star has stepped away from the show following a spade of allegations from celebrities and production staff about his conduct.

He was said to be ‘furious’ with John for not immediately backing him amid a slew of misconduct allegations[/caption]

Even high-profile stars including Sir Rod Stewart, Kirsty Wark and Ulrika Jonsson spoke out against him.

A BBC investigation is now underway after the broadcaster confirmed it had received 13 complaints about Gregg and the plug was pulled on the MasterChef Christmas special.

But as the deluge of claims against kept coming, Gregg’s co-host John Torode and his wife Lisa Faulkner were noticeably silence.

Friends claimed embattled Gregg was so upset with John that he unfollowed both him and Lisa on social media as a public sign of annoyance.

“Gregg is absolutely furious and is convinced he has done nothing wrong,” a source said at the time.

“Seeing John keeping quiet amid all of this has irked him hugely. Gregg and John have been colleagues for almost two decades and while they aren’t the closest of friends, Gregg feels John could say something.”

John did, however, eventually speak out a few days later.

The Australian chef said in a statement he found the reports about Gregg’s alleged behaviour “truly upsetting”, adding: “But as I hope everyone appreciates there is an investigation underway.

“I fully support it, so I cannot make any further comment at this stage.”

In 2017 John said he has “never been friends” with Gregg.

In an interview, he revealed: “It’s funny, we’ve never been friends. We’ve not been to each other’s houses.

“If we go away to somewhere like South Africa, we do things separately. If we do go out for a drink, I’ll invariably be at one end of a big old table and he’ll be at the other.”

Olivia Vs Laura

Love Island fans were left shocked by a surprise feud at the tail end of this year.

Taking to social media, Olivia Attwood suddenly took a furious swipe at a mystery celeb who she claimed was “copying” her.

It was revealed she had been taking aim at 2018 Love Island star Laura Anderson[/caption]

Olivia told fans on Instagram she was keeping a secret that would “blow your f***ing mind” and rumours began flying that it was Maura Higgins.

However, sources close to the Loose Women star revealed to The Sun she was actually taking aim at another Love Island alumni – Laura Anderson.

Olivia had said: “One day I’m going to write a book and some of the stuff I have managed to keep [zipped mouth emoji] on over the years. It will blow your f***ing mind.

“You can try to hire all the same people, regurgitate my stories as your own, study the playbook, follow the recipe blah blah blah, but it will NEVER taste the same. That’s all.”

Scots-born Laura made fans do a double take after mirroring Olivia’s fringe haircut during a photo shoot – but that wasn’t the end of it.

A source told us: “Laura recently asked for the same hand tattoos as Olivia and the guy refused point-blank.

“She’s even been seeing Olivia’s aesthetic doctor, Dr. Saleena Zimri, travelling down from Scotland just for it.

“It’s obvious that she’s trying to mimic Olivia’s look and it hasn’t gone unnoticed. Olivia feels like this crosses a line.”

The girls’ feud actually dates back to 2018, after Laura made her Love Island debut.

At the time, Olivia took great displeasure in Laura having the “same hair, same glasses, uses the same glam teams”, with an insider adding: “She thinks she copies her look.”

Laura seems unfazed by the accusations, however, and shared a cryptic message about “healing” amid Olivia’s latest outburst.
