Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission gets licence to construct largest nuclear plant

Pakistan received a licence to build its largest nuclear power plant, Chashma Nuclear Power Plant Unit 5, with a capacity of 1200 MWe. This plant will use an advanced Pressurised Water Reactor design and is expected to have a lifespan of 60 years. The project will cost USD 3.7 billion and will contribute significantly to Pakistan's electricity generation.
