Five must-play Xbox Game Pass titles that launched in 2024
XBOX turned up the heat this year, by changing up Game Pass and offering more day-one releases than ever before.
We’ve played hundreds of games this year, including many of the Xbox-exclusive and Xbox first-party games.
If you’re looking for a new Xbox game to play, then we have some great choices, all available on Game Pass.
Here are the five best Xbox games that launched in 2024.
5. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
Call of Duty has seen highs and lows over the years, but Black Ops 6 is another return to form for the series.
Black Ops 6 has a fully-featured multiplayer suite, a fun campaign, and one of the best Zombies modes we’ve ever seen.
Even better, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers could play it for free, which almost makes up for the services’ massive price increases.

4. Palworld
Palworld mixes monster-catching with survival-crafting[/caption]Palworld was one of the best-selling games of the year, and it launched as an Xbox console exclusive.
While the creatures look similar to Pokémon’s, it’s actually a survival-crafting game about collecting resources and building a base.
The unique blend of monster collecting and base building had us hooked despite comparisons to Nintendo’s blockbuster franchise.
If you want to check it out for yourself, read our Palworld review first.
3. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
Microsoft Flight Simulator allows you to see a scale model of the world[/caption]Simulators aren’t for everyone, but Microsoft Flight Simulator is such a modern marvel of game design we had to include it.
We already had a to-scale recreation of Earth to play in, but now it comes with all of the training, tutorials, missions, and challenges you could want.
Microsoft also added a new streaming system, meaning that what you download to your console is tiny while it’s the biggest Flight Simulator game to date.

2. Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess
Kunitsu-gami is an excellent action-RTS hybrid[/caption]People overlooked Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, but it is a genuinely brilliant action-RTS hybrid.
You guide a shrine maiden around a cursed mountain and purify the defilement and demons you meet as you go.
Recruit villagers with different abilities, and take on stages with increasing difficulty that force you to work smarter.

1. Indiana Jones and The Great Circle
Indiana Jones is our favourite Xbox game this year[/caption]One of the last releases of the year was also the best as Indiana Jones launched in December.
Fill Indy’s shoes in this playable version of the film franchise, in the first game that gives you the feeling of being in an Indiana Jones movie.
Puzzles, tomb raiding, stealth, and exploration, are all major parts of your adventure with the professor.
