Rainy New Year's Eve expected in NY, NJ
NEW YORK (PIX11) -- The front that brought rain to the area will continue to move offshore as high pressure drifts in from the west.
New York and New Jersey can expect gradual clearing Monday morning followed by sunshine in the afternoon.
Temperatures will fall throughout the day through the low 50s and into the low 40s by the evening.
Tuesday will be sunny early followed by increasing clouds as another area of low pressure moves into the area from the west. The high will be 52 in the city, and low to mid-50s in the suburbs.
Wednesday will be partly cloudy and mild with a high of 50 in the city, and upper 40s to low 50s in the suburbs.
Thursday will be mostly sunny, breezy and noticeably cooler as high pressure brings Canadian air back into the region. The high will be 40 degrees in the city, and the upper 30s to low 40s in the suburbs.
Friday will be mostly sunny and colder with a high of 36 in the city, and mid to upper 30s in the suburbs.
