'These people are cowards': Trump’s border czar fires back at Dems’ 'heartless' shot
Donald Trump’s incoming border czar fired back at Democrats’ claims that he is “heartless” for his hardline immigration stance, which includes promises to see through the president-elect’s threats of mass deportations with a brutal takedown Monday.
The moment came on Fox News when former Immigration and Customs Enforcement chief Tom Homan was asked to respond to recent remarks from Democrats including former Obama cabinet secretary Julian Castro and Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) who both took aim at Homan's empathy in TV news appearances.
“They should’ve worn my shoes for 34 ½ years and dealt with the tragedies that I’ve dealt with,” Homan said. He added: “You want to call me heartless call me heartless…I’m going to do exactly what I say, and I’m going to do it without apology.”
Homan continued laying into Democratic attacks on him just weeks before Trump was set to return to the Oval Office. After talking about the stark state of the U.S.-Mexico border, including issues with an influx in fentanyl poisonings and border crossing deaths, he returned his ire to the Democrats, who he said were the “heartless” ones.

“You know what’s heartless?” Homan asked Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany. “It’s these politicians like Crockett and Castro who covered up the open border. Who didn’t speak up about the children being sex trafficked in this country. Didn’t speak up about the number of aliens that are dying crossing the border.”
He added that women are being raped by cartel members “right now” and that “a child will die tonight on the southern border.”
“All these people are cowards because for four years they didn’t say anything – they didn’t push back on the administration they didn’t talk about the open borders and how many Americans and migrants are dying they didn’t talk about the sex trafficking – they’re heartless," Homan said.
