NPCIL invites proposals to set up small nuclear reactors

India's nuclear power operator NPCIL seeks proposals from the industry to establish 220 MW Bharat Small Reactors for replacing coal-fired plants in steel, aluminium, copper, and cement industries. These reactors support decarbonization and economic benefits. The government intends to deploy 40-50 reactors with private sector participation.
