Saratoga Springs road closures for New Year’s events
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Saratoga Springs will be hosting a two-day New Year’s celebration on Tuesday and Wednesday. The city’s police department has announced road closures and parking restrictions that will be in place during the events.
On Tuesday, the celebration kicks off at 3 p.m. with the New Year’s Eve Fest, which features family-friendly activities, live concerts, and fireworks. Road closures and parking restrictions will be implemented throughout the day, with all closures in effect by 5 p.m. Most roadways are expected to fully reopen by 8:30 p.m.
No Parking:
- Two-hour parking lot at the corner of High Rock Avenue and Lake Avenue
- High Rock Avenue from Lake to York
- Lake Avenue between Maple and Pavilion Row
Road Closures:
- Lake Avenue from Maple Avenue to Hilton Garden Inn Entrance (last detour street available is Rock Street)
- Ellsworth Jones from Lake Ave to Maple Ave
- High Rock Ave from Lake to York
On Wednesday, the celebration will come to a close with the First Day 5K, which kicks off at 11 a.m. Road closures will begin at 8 a.m. and be in full effect by 10 a.m. Roads will reopen individually as the last runner passes the intersection. They are expected to fully reopen by 2 p.m.
No Parking:
- Maple Avenue from Ellsworth Jones to Rock Street Center Parking
- Broadway from Van Dam Street to Church St/Lake Avenue
- Lake Avenue from Broadway to High Rock Ave/Pavilion Row
Road Closures:
Beginning at 10 a.m., the Arterial will be reduced to one lane. Vehicles approaching Broadway will only be able to go straight to Van Dam Street (no left turn onto Broadway)
- Ellsworth Jones between Broadway and Maple Ave
- Maple Avenue from Lake Avenue to Hilton Parking Lot
- Lake Avenue from Broadway to Henning Road
- Patricia Lane from Lake Avenue to Crommelin Place
- Crommelin Place from Patricia Lane to Elizabeth Lane
- Elizabeth Lane from Audrey Lane to Crommelin Place
- Audrey Lane from Elizabeth Lane to Excelsior Springs Avenue
- Excelsior Springs Avenue from Victoria Lane to Excelsior Avenue
- East Avenue from Excelsior Avenue/Spring Run Trail to the Arterial
- Excelsior Avenue from East Avenue to High Rock Avenue
- High Rock Avenue at Warren Street
- Rock Street from Arterial to Maple Avenue
