Renée Zellweger & Ant Anstead Prove Why Their Relationship Works So Well in a Rare LA Outing

Renée Zellweger has never been a celebrity who craved the spotlight. When she met Ant Anstead, he was still in the throes of his divorce drama with ex-wife Christina Haack — yet the Oscar winner made sure to stay out of their business. Now, fans are getting a glimpse at how sweet and normal their relationship is over three years after they began dating.

On Dec. 28, the low-key couple were spotted in Los Angeles enjoying a day at the park with their senior dog. (You can see the photos here.) Zellweger wore an all-black ensemble of leggings, sneakers, and a puffy jacket for the chilly California day. The only spot of color came from her Texas Longhorns baseball cap. Anstead also kept it casual with faded black jeans and a black T-shirt. The dynamic duo is rarely seen together since they do their best to stay out of the public eye.

Zellweger has been a good influence on the TV personality’s life because she was reportedly the one who encouraged his reconciliation with Haack. “She convinced Ant it’s silly to hold grudges and hated seeing him so worked up. Things are better now. She’s extended the olive branch to Christina, too, and looking forward to a drama-free holiday season,” a Life & Style source claimed. Anstead and Haack share a son Hudson, 5, so their healed friendship will make an impact on their young child’s life.

The shift was so dramatic that Haack not only followed her ex on Instagram again, but she also invited him for a cameo on her new show, The Flip Off. Anstead was spotted by People on the set in early November and everyone had big smiles on their faces. Haack is filming the series with her first ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and his wife, Heather Rae El Moussa. Anstead has remained friendly with the El Moussas, so it must have been quite the rowdy reunion!

In 2025, fans should expect Anstead to be Zellweger’s biggest cheerleader as she returns to theaters in her iconic role as Bridget Jones in Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy. She might not be active on social media, but Anstead has been raving about his girlfriend every time a new photo or promo drops. “That’s my Ren (lucky boy),” he wrote on his Instagram Story on Aug. 23.

Perhaps the red carpet premiere will also mark their official couple debut, but we also wouldn’t be surprised if they decided to keep their romance off the public’s radar.
