Tina Knowles Addresses Her Social Media Usage After 'Liking' Post About Jay-Z Rape Allegations

Tina Knowles is setting the record straight.

The 70-year-old mother of Beyoncé and Solange Knowles addressed her active Internet presence on The Run-Though with Vogue podcast.

“I’m a protector of my kids, and I just feel like that’s my job,” Tina explained on the episode, following her clap-back at critics of Bey‘s Christmas Day NFL halftime show.

“And, you know, my kids are always like, ‘Mama, just ignore that.’ But it gets to the point where I’m just like, ‘I’m sorry. This is enough. It’s enough.’ You know? Because imagine being a mother and somebody’s lying on your kid. It’s hard to watch,” she added.

Tina admitting liking negative posts about her family also happens.

“It’s so funny because you know how many times I’ve liked something that was negative about my own children?” Tina said.

“Because if I’m busy and I’m going through the thing, I’m like, ‘Oh, there’s Beyoncé with so and so.’ I like that. And then the fans come back and say, ‘Miss Tina, please erase that because you’re liking some negative post.’ ”

Earlier this month, fans noticed that Tina’s account had liked posts surrounding the allegations that her son-in-law Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl, which Jay-Z has adamantly denied.

She didn’t directly address the allegations against Jay on the podcast, but revealed advice he has given her about social media and her captions, which she says are written voice-to-text.

“I know that it doesn’t understand what I’m saying, and it’s got crazy stuff,” she explained. “And my son-in-law, Jay will say, ‘Listen, if you’re gonna read somebody, at least spell your words right. Don’t misspell your words, Ma. You can’t do that. Take your time and go over and spellcheck your stuff!’”

Her granddaughter Blue Ivy has also weighed in.

“Every once in a while, I’ll get a call from Blue, and she’ll say, ‘Grandma, that’s really whack what you just did. That’s really whack. You should delete that,’ ” Tina said of her eldest granddaughter. “I’m like, ‘Girl, I’m on to the next thing.’ And all of the comments are like, ‘There you go again, Miss Tina.’”
