Man slain in Northeast Portland hotel parking lot

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A man was shot to death in a hotel parking lot in the Sumner neighborhood early New Year's Eve night, and police said the shooter remains at large.

Homicide investigators went to the scene near 8200 NE Sandy Boulevard after the shooting was reported around 5:40 p.m. The man, whose name has not yet been released, was already dead when officers arrived.

Anyone with information is asked to call Portland police Detectives Sean Macomber or Jeff Pontius. The case number is 24-333724.
