Sophie Ellis-Bextor Welcomes Rain to the Dance Floor for New Year's Eve 2025 Performance in Times Square!

Sophie Ellis-Bextor brought her hit song “Murder on the Dance Floor” to the Big Apple for 2025 New Year’s Eve!

The 45-year-old British pop star, whose 2001 song had a resurgence thanks to the movie Saltburn, performed live on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve on Tuesday (December 31) in New York City.

Sophie performed in the pouring rain and she was happy to welcome the surprise element to her performance.

“You know, that was actually really good fun,” Sophie said about performing in the rain. “I don’t want to shock you, but as a British girl, I’ve performed in the rain a few times, actually. It was like being at a festival. Glastonbury!”

Sophie says that coming to America to perform her music for the first time was a “highlight” of 2024 for her.
