Authorities Now Investigating Cybertruck Explosion at Trump Tower Vegas as a “Potential Act of Terrorism” — Suspected Use of Detonation System to Trigger Blast (VIDEO)
On New Year’s Day, a Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, resulting in one death and seven injuries.
The incident occurred around 8:40 a.m. in the hotel’s valet area.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk stated that the explosion was unrelated to the vehicle’s design or function, emphasizing that all vehicle telemetry was positive at the time of the incident.
“We have now confirmed that the explosion was caused by very large fireworks and/or a bomb carried in the bed of the rented Cybertruck and is unrelated to the vehicle itself. All vehicle telemetry was positive at the time of the explosion,” Musk wrote.

Authorities are investigating the explosion as a potential act of terrorism. Preliminary findings suggest that the Cybertruck was carrying large fireworks or a bomb in its bed, which caused the explosion.
The vehicle had been rented through the Turo app, the same platform used to rent a pickup truck involved in a deadly attack in New Orleans earlier that day.
“Appears likely to be an act of terrorism. Both this Cybertruck and the F-150 suicide bomb in New Orleans were rented from Turo. Perhaps they are linked in some way,” Musk wrote.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the FBI are leading the investigation, focusing on the possibility of a deliberate detonation.
According to a CNN source, the Cybertruck explosion in Las Vegas involved explosives such as fireworks, gas tanks, and camping fuel. Authorities believe the blast was triggered by a detonation system controlled by the driver.

The identity of the driver, who was killed in the explosion, has not been released. Authorities are working to determine a motive and any potential connections to other incidents.
