Working group formed to revise WPI base year to 2022-23 from 2011-12

The government has set up a working group to revise the base year of the Wholesale Price Index to 2022-23 from 2011-12. The group will suggest the commodity basket for WPI and Producer Price Index, review the price collection system, and improve reliability. The final report is expected within 18 months.
