MTA cleaner stabbed in subway station in the Bronx: sources

THE BRONX (PIX11) -- A man was stabbed inside a subway station in the Bronx early Thursday morning, according to the NYPD.

The incident happened at the Pelham Parkway station around 6:10 a.m.

Police say the 47-year-old man was stabbed in the armpit during a verbal dispute with an unknown individual. The suspect fled the location.

EMS took the victim to a local hospital.

Investigations into the stabbing are ongoing. Sources tell PIX11 News that the victim is an MTA cleaner.
