Alcohol consumption in Karnataka sees notable rise over nine months

The consumption of alcohol in Kodagu saw a significant rise from April to December in 2024-25, with an increase of 7,206 boxes compared to the previous year. Virajpet zone had the highest sales increase, while the Somwarpet zone saw a slight decrease. Beer consumption also rose by 6.48% despite high rainfall since June.
