The Dancer Collection
The Dancer Collection is a minimalist lighting collection by the Melbourne-based design studio, Coco Flip, and the Australian ceramist, Belinda Wiltshire. The collection consists of table lamps and wall lights in various styles and sizes, as well as cylindrical ceiling mounts.
Inspired by the Triadisches ballet, an avant-garde dance developed by the Bauhaus artist and choreographer, Oskar Schlemmer, each Dancer light echoes the sculptural and geometric costumes used in Schlemmer’s performances. From conical lampshades to tubular sconces, the fantastical forms of the collection bring a playful and theatrical appeal to any interior space.
Each light is wheel-thrown, hand-finished, and fired in Wiltshire’s pottery studio in Preston, where she works with mid-fire clay to craft the pieces. To enhance the clay’s warm, earthy brown color, a black iron oxide is brushed onto the lights to create a simple yet striking striped pattern.
Each Dancer lamp is offered in three striped finishes: wide, thin, and spaced. The collection’s table lamps are available in any combination of these finishes
