I was a Faithful on The Traitors – here’s how to spot if someone’s keeping a secret
ONE of the stars of last year’s The Traitors has offered her top tips on how to find out whether someone’s lying or not.
Charlotte Chilton was a faithful in the 2024 series of the BBC One show, which saw traitor Harry Clark triumphing and winning over £95,000.
Charlotte Chilton says those who talk too much should be watched closely[/caption]Warwickshire-based Charlotte suggests her best bit of advice is questioning “anyone who talks to much”, while she also advises contestants never to think others are too nice to be traitors.
Speaking to the BBC, she says: “Harry, I never thought was capable of being a traitor. But actually when you watch it back, you think, of course he was.”
And the recruitment manager reckons if she was appearing on this year’s series, she would be nowhere near as naive as before.
Because looking back, she now realises that “nothing is off limits”, on the programme.
She adds: “If I went into it now, no matter how lovely and brilliant you are, I wouldn’t believe it.
“You go in there with a little bit of innocence and you don’t quite understand it’s all to play for.”
Charlotte is thoroughly enjoying the new series, which kicked off on New Year’s Day, at 9pm on BBC One.
And she says watching purely as a viewer, has made her more sympathetic towards the current crop of contestants.
She says: “The one thing I would say is watching it I feel so much more sympathy for every person in it now, because it’s really really difficult.
“I’ve watched an hour of what was probably filmed over two days and actually there would have been a lot more conversations going on.”
Despite the deceitful nature of the show, Charlotte, who spent New Year with another 2024 contestant Charlie Bees, says they all still try and stay in touch.
She adds: “We all get together when we can, we try and meet [up].”
But despite being an ex-contestant, Charlotte doesn’t find it any easier to predict how people will respond to some of the difficult scenarios they find themselves in.
She says: “[The show is] built on taking normal people and putting them in this really stressful situation and seeing what they do. You’ve just got to see it unfold.”
