We must stop being poachers of our past

India struggles to preserve its heritage with the recent demolition of the 17th-century Mubarak Manzil in Agra. Government negligence and greed of developers eyeing prime property led to its destruction. Similar incidents have occurred before, such as the partial demolition of the 13th-century Lal Mahal in Delhi. Conservation efforts must be improved.
