Chairman’s New Year Message

First and foremost, I’d like to wish everyone a Happy New Year! The year has started on a high note with our excellent win over Mold Alexandra on New Year’s Day.

Despite the bad weather putting the match in doubt, the rain eased off, and thanks to the tremendous efforts of our volunteers, the game went ahead. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making that possible—your dedication highlights just how vital volunteers are to the success of our club.

While it’s impossible to single out any one individual, every volunteer plays a crucial role, whether it’s on matchdays or behind the scenes. We’re always looking for more people to join our team—whether at the board level or as matchday helpers. If you’d like to get involved, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

On the Pitch

As we enter the ‘business end’ of the season, the men’s first team finds itself in second place in the JD Cymru North, just four points behind leaders Airbus UK. Mike and Danny have built an exciting and competitive squad, and the team is playing some fantastic football.

Our ambition remains to secure a return to the JD Cymru Premier. Although our previous stint in the top flight was brief, it was an invaluable learning experience. With the league expanding to 16 teams for the 2026/27 season, we’re working tirelessly both on and off the pitch to establish ourselves at this level.

It’s also worth noting that we are one of the select clubs in Wales to achieve the Football Association of Wales’ Platinum Accreditation, which reflects excellence across both on-field and off-field operations.

Gratitude

I want to extend my deepest thanks to all our sponsors and partners, whose support is vital to the club’s success. Similarly, the Supporters’ Committee continues to play a massive role, and we are incredibly grateful for their efforts.

Our Junior section is another source of great pride, involving over 300 children across various age groups. As someone who has been involved in this area for many years, it’s heartening to see its continued success, which wouldn’t be possible without the incredible commitment of our coaches and families. One Club, One Community.

Last summer, we reintroduced the Ladies team, and they’ve not only had an excellent season so far but have also become an integral part of the club. Meanwhile, the Reserves, under Paul Roberts, have also performed admirably, providing a vital pathway for players into the first team. It’s been especially exciting to see reserve players and academy graduates earning their place in the senior squad.

Looking Ahead

To our amazing supporters, thank you for your unwavering backing at home and away. You are the heartbeat of this club, and your passion is truly special.

Finally, Arthur Holden’s new book, Grounds for Hope, is a fascinating read that explores the rich history of our football club and its significance to the town. As we look to the future, there’s much to anticipate as we continue this incredible journey together.

Here’s to an exciting year ahead — Onward, Seagulls!

Chairman
