Barrett again named Saratoga Co. Board of Supervisors chair
BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Clifton Park Supervisor Phil Barrett was unanimously selected as chair of the 2025 Saratoga County Board of Supervisors at an annual meeting on Thursday, county officials announced. This will mark his second consecutive term as board chairman. He previously served as board chairman in 2007.
“I am honored and thankful to my colleagues for selecting me to chair the Saratoga County Board of Supervisors for a second term," Barrett said in a press release. "I look forward to continuing our work together to enact policies that ensure fiscal discipline, promote economic development while preserving open space, and safeguard essential services for Saratoga County residents.”
As board chairman, Barrett has been active in overseeing the expansion of the county’s Department of Health. He has also been involved in the county’s allocation of opioid settlement funds to invest in reducing future opioid-related deaths as well as supporting substance abuse prevention, treatment and recovery initiatives.
Barrett is currently in his 14th term as Clifton Park's town supervisor. He also serves on the board of the Saratoga County Water Authority and chairs the county’s Airport Committee.
Barrett was sworn into office on Thursday. He also provided committee assignments to all board members during the meeting.
