Druthers co-founder dies after battle with leukemia
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Druthers Brewing Company co-founder Brian “Hart” Martell has died. He passed away with his family by his side. on Dec. 27 at the age of 43 following a battle with leukemia.
According to his obituary, Martell founded Druthers alongside his brothers and father. The project, for him, was much more than just a business — it was a “labor of love.”
“It was about creating something meaningful while sharing every step of the process with those closest to him,” the obituary read. “His contributions extended far beyond the X's and O's — dollars and cents — his creativity came alive in crafting menus and designing inviting spaces that reflected his vision and passion.”
In addition to his passion for the business, Martell was a family man, sports fan and world traveler. He leaves behind his wife and young daughter.
According to his obituary, a celebration of life will be held at Druthers Brewing Company in Saratoga Springs on Jan. 11 at 5 p.m. His friends and family are invited to attend. Online remembrances may be made on the Burke Funeral Home website.
