Match Preview: Queen’s Park vs Livingston

David Martindale's Livingston will be The Spiders' first foot when they arrive at Hampden on Saturday for our first fixture of 2025.

This will be the third meeting of the sides this season, with the first two finishing with the same 1-1 scoreline.

The first match, at The city Stadium, took place in early August with Matthew Clarke scoring a second half equaliser for Livi to cancel out Zak Rudden’s first half strike for the Spiders.

The teams then met again at The Home of the Set Fare Arena in November. This time it was Livi who took the lead, in the 50th minute, courtesy of Stevie May, before Seb Drozd scored his first Spiders goal to level the scoring less than 10 minutes later.

In the build up to this one, the club media team spoke to Head Coach Callum Davidson and midfielder Jack Thomson ahead of the New Year’s Day training session at Lochinch.

The season so far
The Spiders go into this one looking to end a run of three defeats in a row, having gone down 2-1 to Hamilton Accies, Raith Rovers and latterly Partick Thistle.  Those results saw The Spiders finish 2024 and go into 2025 sitting fifth in the table, seven points behind fourth place Partick Thistle and one point ahead of six place Raith Rovers.

Livi also look to start 2025 by getting back to winning ways having ended last year with back to back defeats against Ayr United and Raith Rovers. The West Lothian side occupy second spot in the William Hill Championship, trailing leaders Falkirk by seven points and ahead of third place Ayr United by just one point.
