Lil Wayne is venturing into the world of sports with his new agency, Young Money APAA Sports.

Founded in 2017 through the strategic merger of Adie von Gontard of APAA Sports and Wayne’s Young Money Sports, the trailblazing agency has quietly built a reputation for excellence in NBA, Major League Soccer and NFL representation and marketing, the company website notes.

The agency’s mission is clear: to empower athletes in every aspect of their lives. Young Money APAA Sports is committed to not only securing record-breaking contracts in the NFL and NBA but also helping athletes explore equity ownership opportunities, creating wealth and a lasting legacy for their careers and families. Their athletes are treated like family, receiving personalized attention and support that sets the agency apart from others.

Young Money APAA Sports offers a comprehensive range of services to its clients and partners, including contract management, athlete representation, investment strategies, brand management, content creation, and more. The agency’s track record speaks for itself, with players drafted in every round of both the NFL and NBA drafts, further cementing their reputation as leaders in the industry. Through its dedication to excellence and innovation, Young Money APAA Sports continues to redefine what it means to represent world-class athletes.

“YMAPAA takes pride in exclusively representing the finest athletes globally, having successfully negotiated contracts surpassing a billion dollars, to date,” the agency boasts.

Who is on the agency’s roster?

In 2024, the agency expanded its roster with the addition of quarterback Darian Mensah, a standout star from Duke Football. In late December, Mensah signed a groundbreaking name, image, and likeness (NIL) deal reportedly worth $8 million over two years, with an average annual salary of $4 million. The deal has been hailed as making him the highest-paid player in college football history, according to CBS.

The agency also signed English soccer talent Dru Yearwood, whose impressive career began at Arsenal before he made his professional debut with Southend United in English League One. He later moved to Brentford in the Championship and then to the NY Red Bulls as a Young Designated Player. Yearwood now plays for Nashville Soccer Club, having accumulated over 100 Major League Soccer appearances by the age of 24.

To kick off 2025, Young Money APAA Sports secured a representation deal with Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, Front Office Sports reported. Hunter, known for his dominant two-way play on both offense and defense, rose to prominence under the guidance of Coach Deion Sanders at both Jackson State and Colorado. With his growing popularity, versatility, and undeniable talent, Hunter is already being hailed as one of football’s most anticipated future stars – which will only take Young Money APAA Sports to new heights.
