I’m almost 30 & still a virgin -I decided to wait when I was a teen…I want to give myself as a gift to my future husband
A WOMAN has revealed that at almost 30, she is a virgin by choice, and plans to give herself “as a gift” to her future husband.
Marina, 28, has revealed that she decided to save herself for marriage when she was a teenager, and is now on the hunt for “the one.”
Taking to TikTok, Marina revealed that she did not think that she would still be a virgin at this age, and had assumed that she would have found her husband by now.
“I decided to wait when I was a teenager because I was a Christian, and got told this is the best thing for your protection,” she said.
Initially, Marina has been against the idea of saving herself for marriage, as her friends and everyone at school was encouraging her to do the opposite.
However, she said that as she got older, she realised it was the “best decision” for her, and said that it saved her a lot of heartache.
Marina said that a girl in school told her that no one would ever wait for her, and admitted that she has found this to be the case so far, when dating.
“I’ve not met the one yet but I’m still waiting,” she said.
Marina said that the main reason she is waiting before marriage is that she wants to give herself “as a gift” to her future husband.
“He’s the only one that I’m going to be intimate with,” she said.
Marina’s (@thegypsyvigin) video has likely left many people impressed, as it has racked up over 62,000 views on the video sharing platform.
TikTok users raced to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts on her unconventional attitude to sex.
One person said: “I’m so happy that you’ve found something that works for you and your beliefs but do you ever feel like you’re putting too much pressure on yourself to find ‘the one’ rather than organically just dating and seeing if something happens?”
Marina responded: “Yes, I totally get this.
“In recent years I have found that and so now I’m working on removing the pressure and dating and seeing where things go.”
A second person said: “Do you ever feel like you want to go through the emotions of life such as heart break?”
Celebs that waited until marriage to have sex
Celebrities tend to keep the details of their sex life private, but when it comes to their choice to wait until marriage, some stars are actually willing to open up.
Jessica Simpson – Before marrying Nick Lachey, Jessica was very open about her decision to remain a virgin. She said she was nervous about discussing the topic with Nick for the first time, but he “stayed patient” until they tied the knot in 2002.
Justin and Hailey Bieber – Justin may have been with other people before his wife Hailey, but when they reconnected in 2019, he was more than a year into a self-imposed tenure of celibacy. Together, the couple decided to continue to refrain from having sex until they were married.
Adriana Lima – Victoria’s Secret model Adriana’s Catholic faith influenced her decision to save herself for marriage. She explained potential suitors would have to respect her decision — and if they weren’t willing to wait, then they weren’t the right person for her.
Miranda Kerr and Evan Spiegel – When Miranda started dating Snapchat founder Evan, the couple decided to wait until marriage to have sex because of Evan’s traditional beliefs. In an interview, Miranda was asked about the possibility of having children before their wedding and she said it wouldn’t be possible: “Not until after we get married. My partner is very traditional. We can’t…I mean we’re just…waiting,” she told The Times.
Kevin Jonas – All the Jonas brothers famously wore purity rings for much of their adolescence, in part due to their religious upbringing. While Nick and Joe ended up taking their rings off, Kevin saw things through until he tied the knot with his wife Danielle in 2009.
Marina responded: “I have been through that.
“Just not in this exact certain situation.”
A third person added: “I wish I had met a friend doing this when I was also doing the same!
“I waited until I met the one too, and I finally met him last year, but for 29 years I felt so isolated.”
