Tottenham vs Newcastle team news

Ange Postecoglou still has a bare squad to select from for today’s fixture against the high-flying Magpies with a number of players still missing due to injury and suspension.

Rodrigo Bentancur, who recently only returned from his seven-match ban sits this one out as a result of his fifth booking of the season which he picked up in injury time against Wolves last time out.

Tottenham’s form has been far from ideal with the North Londoners having registered just one victory from their last seven top-flight games, drawing two and losing four.

Newcastle on the other end have won four successive Premier League games, scoring 13 goals and conceding none which will certainly be a concern for the home side.

During yesterday’s press conference Ange Postecoglou revealed Destiny Udogie will miss the next six weeks as a result of his hamstring injury and joins Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Mikey Moore, Richarlison, Ben Davies, Wilson Odobert and Guglielmo Vicario on the treatment table.

Postecoglou admitted that a virus has swept through the Tottenham first-team squad prior to today’s game to further rub salt into their wounds.

There is one welcome returnee, with Djed Spence available having served his one-match ban.
