Guardians of the Galaxy’s Karen Gillan Revealed Her Newborn Daughter’s Unique & Colorful Name

Guardians of the Galaxy star Karen Gillan is now a mom! That’s right, she and her husband Nick Kocher welcomed a baby daughter in late 2024, and the photos are so sweet! Not only that, but their daughter’s name is even sweeter.

On Jan 2, Gillan shared a series of photos with the caption reading, “2024 thank you for giving us Clementine ????. Also as per the last slide – I shot a film called ‘Let’s Have Kids’ right as I got preggo in real life so take that Daniel Day Lewis.”

Before we get into the photos, we have to talk about their daughter’s name: Clementine. It’s unique, it’s sweet, and it just shows that color baby names are reigning supreme in the 2020s.

Clementine is a French and Latin name meaning both “mild, merciful.” It’s also a shade of orange, a bright and happy color! It’s often linked to Kate Winslet’s character in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, as well as in Roman mythology, since Clementia was the goddess of mercy and leniency.

Truly, Gillan and Kocher gave their daughter such a unique name.

As for the photos, we see Gillan smiling as she cuddles up to Clementine, Kocher cuddling up with their baby, as well as them holding adorable mom and dad mugs, and Gillan at the hospital.

For those who don’t know, Gillan and Kocher first met a few years ago when she slid into his DMs. Then, on May 2022, they got married after keeping their romance quite private. And now, they’re parents!
