Masked Singer fans are convinced new character Bush is a pop band star after spotting giveaway clue
THE Masked Singer viewers reckon they’ve worked out the identity of one new contestant already.
It comes after one of the singer’s bandmates claimed he’d previosuly been offered the role of Bush.
The name being suggested for Bush is Tom Fletcher, lead singer of pop band McFly.
With one eagle-eyed fan referring to Tom’s bandmate and 2024 The Masked Singer winner Danny Jones‘s previous comments.
King of the jungle Danny, who recently won I’m A Celebrity, revealed during his time as a judge on The Voice, that he could have been cast as Bush.
During an episode of the ITV talent show, Danny said he was given the choice of playing either a Bush, or a Pirahna, ahead of his winning performance on The Masked Singer last year.
Prompting the fan to say of Bush: “Tbh i think it’s tom. It just looks like him idk how to explain.”
But another thinks it might be another McFly member, or even a member of a different Nineties boyband, Busted.
They said: “It could be another member of mcfly such as Harry Judd or maybe a boy band member such as MATT WILLIS.”
Although one viewer reckons neither scenario is likely however, particularly with Busted star Charlie Simpson winning 2023’s The Masked Singer, as Rhino.
They said: “I don’t think they’d have other people from McFly or Busted so soon after Rhino and Piranha.”
As well as Bush, the new series will see contestants wearing an array of unusual costumes, including Spaghetti Bolognaise, Toad In The Hole, Dressed Crab and Tattoo.
There will also be a change to the judging panel with Love Island host Maya Jama taking over from the outgoing Rita Ora.
Maya will be joining regular judges Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall and Jonathan Ross.
While Joel Dommett is back as host.
Davina said recently that Maya’s taken to her new role like a duck to water.
The 57-year-old told Closer: “It’s been really nice having Maya on the panel, she’s really good fun. She’s thrown herself in at the deep end and is smashing it!
“I miss Rita, obviously we’d all worked together for so long and Maya had big shoes to fill, but she’s filled them brilliantly.“
And Davina was keen to praise show bosses for coming up with the name of Bush, which has provided much amusement.
She added: “The fact that we’ve called somebody Bush this year is too funny.
“Being called Bush every five minutes by (host) Joel makes me laugh so much.”
