Lafayette vacant home catches fire, authorities search for cause
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Lafayette firefighters responded to a vacant house fire in the 500 block of Lafayette Street Saturday morning. The small wood-framed dwelling was fully engulfed in flames as first responders arrived. Firefighters brought the fire under control in fifteen minutes. However, the dwelling sustained heavy fire damage.
The dwelling was abandoned. There were no utilities supplied to the home. Neighbors informed firefighters two homeless individuals were recently staying in the home.
