5 Roles Sebastian Stan Auditioned For But Didn't Book (Including 2 Iconic Superheroes!)

Sebastian Stan is having a fantastic year as we kick off awards season with the 2025 Golden Globes on Sunday (January 5).

The 42-year-old actor is going into the ceremony nominated for Best Actor in the Musical or Comedy category for his movie A Different Man and in the Drama category for The Apprentice. Both movies could earn him additional nominations through the rest of the season. And that’s not all he has in store.

Of course, Sebastian is well known as a member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe where he plays Captain America’s best friend Bucky Barnes (aka the Winter Soldier). He’s sharing the screen with Florence Pugh and others in 2025′s Thunderbolts*.

He’s booked and busy now. However, Sebastian confirmed that he did have some roles that he auditioned for but did not manage to book.

The list includes two iconic superhero roles, and a third was part of another mega-successful film franchise!
