Holder Athletic Club into Copa del Rey last-16 through penalty shootout

MADRID, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- Athletic Bilbao suffered a massive scare in the first game of its defense of the Copa del Rey title as it needed a penalty shootout to progress past fourth-tier side UD Logrones on Saturday.

Although Ernesto Valverde's side had nearly all of the chances in the game, it could not beat home goalkeeper Kike Royo in 90 minutes or in 30 minutes of extra time.
