India's 2024 power output growth is slowest since pandemic
India's electricity generation in 2024 grew at its slowest pace since the COVID-19 pandemic, increasing 5.8% to 1,824.13 billion kWh, reflecting a slowdown in the economy. Growth in power generation dropped from 9.6% in the first half of the year to 2.3% in the second half. The economy grew at its slowest rate in nearly two years, with December manufacturing activity also weakening.
