LIVE: Traslacion 2025 begins

MANILA, Philippines – The image of the Jesus Nazareno leaves Quirino Grandstand early morning Thursday, January 9, for the Traslacion.

The Traslacion is the traditional procession of hundreds of thousands of devotees following the “andas,” or carriage which bears the statue of the Jesus Nazareno, as it makes its way back to its home, the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno, or Quiapo Church.

The hours-long procession passes through the narrow streets of Manila’s San Miguel and Quiapo districts before ending at Quiapo Church.

The theme of Nazareno 2025 is: “Mas MABUTI ang PAGSUNOD kaysa PAGHAHANDOG (1 Sam. 15:22) sa mga UMAASA kay Jesus.” (Obedience is better than sacrifice, for those who place their hope in Jesus).
