Food vendor attacked, robbed in Hell's Kitchen, police investigating

NEW YORK (PIX11) – Police are investigating a vicious attack on a food vendor in Hell's Kitchen.

Police said a man approached the vendor around 10:50 p.m. on Tuesday while working the cart on West 49th Street and Eighth Avenue. The suspect stole $3,500.

The 33-year-old vendor lost several teeth in the attack and was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.

The suspect is described as being in his 30s and was seen wearing a white-and-blue jacket and jeans, authorities said. 

The cart owner said he believed he had seen the suspect before.
