Jeremy Strong Hits Back at Critics of His Acting Method After Costars Talk About It

Jeremey Strong appeared to take aim at two former costars who have recently expressed hesitations about his acting method.

The 46-year-old Succession star has previously addressed his extreme dedication to his roles. Meanwhile, costars have dissed it over the years. One even went as far as to refer to his approach as “f-cking annoying.”

In recent interview, Jeremy‘s Succession costars Kieran Culkin and Brian Cox both had something to say about the star. Jeremy addressed his own critics in response.

While participating in Variety’s “Actors on Actors” series, Kieran mentioned Jeremy while saying that he disagreed with actors who refer to themselves as storytellers.

Brian told The Guardian that Jeremy “would be an even better actor if he just got rid of that.”

It appears that Jeremy indirectly responded while speaking with Deadline.

“Lately, people have felt a need to take shots at me or say disparaging things, which I don’t really think there’s any need for,” he said, clarifying that people have taken issue with his “process.”

He continued, saying, “I feel we’re storytellers.”

Jeremy said that his “holy grail” was actors who manage to use their character to tell the story.

“That’s the kind of acting that I love. And it does require a kind of, I don’t know, devil may care attitude towards what anybody might think of what you’re doing,” he said.
