Iconic girlband singer looks unrecognisable from 00s heyday as she reveals new single – and fans are loving it
SHE was in one of the most famous girl groups of the early 00s.
But now one 42-year-old singer has got fans buzzing, after giving them the first glimpse of her upcoming solo EP.
She took to TikTok to share a video of herself belting out the new tune, titled Burning Letters.
The clip showed her wearing a black top, jeans, black beanie and jacket as she lip synced along to the tune, with the flame-red hair she sported when she first hit the music scene replaced by a darker hue.
“I ain’t angry, I’m just burning letters,” ex Atomic Kitten star Natasha Hamilton captioned the video.
And fans quickly expressed their excitement about the new release, which is coming on the record label mum-of-five Natasha herself founded.
“Love this Tash, very powerful- can’t wait to get the single!” one gushed.
“So good!” another commented.
“Beautiful voice, but hardly recognised you,” a third admitted.
And there were more than a few remarks about Natasha’s changed appearance, with many even mistaking her for Geordie Shore stars Sophie Kasaei and Chloe Ferry.
“Didn’t recognise her,” someone else added.
As another agreed that she was “unrecognisable”.
Others praised the star, with one writing: “Girl you’re like fine wine. You’re only getting better with age!”
“She looks beautiful – what’s up with people ?!?” another added.
A third commented: “She’s lovely and she sounds great.”
Natasha joined the girl group with Kerry Katona and Liz McClarnon in 1999, replacing Heidi Range – who would go on to join Sugababes, and they released their debut single Right Now later that year.
However, they didn’t truly taste massive success until they released their tune Whole Again, which topped the UK charts and remained in the number one position for four consecutive weeks.
They went on to have mixed success with their following singles and albums, before announcing in 2004 that they were planning to take a hiatus.
Why I can't wait for Natasha Hamilton's comeback, from an Atomic Kitten megafan
A NIGHT out at university in Leeds unusually involved cheap white wine, heels you couldn’t walk in and a trip to the now-closed Baja Beach Club.
The club, which won awards for its music and theme nights, was no stranger to Atomic Kitten… and so I was no stranger to them.
I loved all their hits including their versions of The Tide is High and Eternal Flame.
But their pièce de résistance was of course Whole Again which was written for them, sung by Natasha and has been released multiple times since (although to a sub par standard it has to be said).
It’s so good the four writers were nominated for the Ivor Novello Award for excellence in songwriting.
Inexplicably – 21 years after it was released – it had a resurgence during the Euros 2020 tournament when ‘Southgate you’re the one’ became a football chant.
I was on a busy tube carriage when a group of teens started singing it, flash mob style, and was instantly (despite being 40 – gulp) transported back 20 years to that sticky dancefloor, pint of wine in hand, belting out ‘you still turn me on’.
Tash – it’s great to have you back.

The group went through various formations – including Kerry being replaced by Jenny Frost – and comebacks, as well as an appearance on The Big Reunion, before Natasha announced in October 2024 that she was officially leaving Atomic Kitten.
She said at the time that she had made that decision in order to concentrate on a solo career, and will be releasing her a solo EP “soon”, through the label she founded.
