COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) - This weekend in central Ohio is full of sports from the Ohio State Buckeyes and Columbus Blue Jackets, to the Columbus Fury season opener at Nationwide Arena. Here are things to see and do this weekend.

Ohio State Buckeyes men's basketball

Value City Arena, Jan. 9

  • The Buckeyes face the Oregon Ducks in a home matchup at 6 p.m.

Blue Jackets vs. Kraken

Nationwide Arena, Jan. 9

  • The Columbus Blue Jackets take on the Seattle Kraken at 7 p.m.

Wanderlights

Downtown Columbus, now through Feb. 16

  • Explore the free holiday light experience featuring more than half a million lights at the Columbus Commons, the Scioto Mile and along Town Street. Patrons can stroll through daily from 5 to 10 p.m.

Ohio State men's ice hockey

Value City Arena, Jan. 10-11

  • The Buckeyes will take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Jan. 10 at 5 p.m. and Jan. 11 at 6:30 p.m.

  • Ohio State will face Bemidji State on Jan. 10 and 11 at 3 p.m.

  • The Columbus Fury is back with the team's season opener against San Diego Mojo at 7 p.m.
