Christina Haack Shared Rare Insight on Her Relationship With Ant Anstead’s Girlfriend Renée Zellweger

Christina Haack is on a healing journey. Her split with Josh Hall has set off a catalyst of events that involve love, friendship, and reconciliation. With Hall exiting the picture, it looks like there are happier days ahead for the HGTV personality and her blended family — including her relationship with Renée Zellweger.

Haack revealed to Us Weekly that her reunion with her second ex-husband Ant Anstead was fueled by her breakup with Hall. They share a son, Hudson, 5, so things have been awkward between them since their 2021 divorce. “[After we broke up] I was dropping Hudson off at Ant’s house, and he gave me a big hug and was like, ‘I’m here for you and I’m so sorry you’re going through this,’” Haack shared. “He said, ‘I feel like Josh is the source of the problem [and why] I couldn’t communicate.’ Now we’re back on track.”

That rekindled friendship also allowed her to offer rare insight into her relationship with the Oscar winner. Haack only had kind things to say about the 55-year-old actress, but she also admitted that they are acquaintances, not BFFs. “It’s not like Heather and I, where we spend a lot of time together,” Haack said of her first ex-husband, Tarek El Moussa’s wife. “It’s mostly just on the soccer field or at drop-off, but [Renée is] super nice. She loves Hudson, and Hudson loves her. And she and Ant are happy.”

In October 2024, a Life & Style source hinted that the Bridget Jones’s Diary star might have encouraged Anstead to reconcile with his ex. “She convinced Ant it’s silly to hold grudges and hated seeing him so worked up. Things are better now. She’s extended the olive branch to Christina, too, and is looking forward to a drama-free holiday season,” the insider claimed. That seems to align with Haack’s account of Anstead embracing her after her breakup with Hall.

It’s sweet to see everyone in the Haack, El Moussa, and Anstead households getting along because they prove that a blended family is stronger than a feuding one. Anstead will also be making a cameo appearance on Haack and El Moussa’s upcoming show, The Flip Off. It’s a sign that hearts can be healed, it just takes some time.
