EastEnders viewers spot major Nigel Bates blunder – did you see it?
EASTENDERS viewers spotted a major blunder on last night’s episode with Nigel Bates.
The long-running character made a dramatic return to Walford over the Christmas period, leaving fans more excited than ever.
Nigel Bates finally admitted that he had early onset dementia[/caption] Their conversation was interrupted by a phone call from Phil[/caption]However, the most recent edition of the long-running BBC One soap, many who tuned in were left utterly puzzled.
Nigel (Paul Bradley) was sat in the laundrette in an intimate moment with Yolande (Angela Wynter).
He made a heartbreaking revelation as he confessed to his former neighbour that he had been diagnosed with early onset dementia.
Their conversation was then interrupted as his mobile phone rang out loud and it was Phil (Steve McFadden) calling.
But EastEnders fans noticed a blunder when it came to Nigel answering the call.
Although Nigel decided to ignore the call, he was apparently shown hitting the “answer” button on-screen.
A number of viewers took to X – formerly known as Twitter – as they pointed out the apparent continuity error.
“Anyone else notice Nigel clicked the accept call button?”, asked one viewer.
A second stated: “Well as Nige just answered instead of ending the call I guess Phil knows now too.”
However, many viewers were also left gushing on social media about the actors incredible skills.
A third viewer exclaimed: “Really loving the Nigel and Yolande friendship it doesn’t even Feel new.
“Master stroke bringing Paul Bradley back as as Nigel. A fantastic actor. The scene in Dot’s talking with Yolande was simple, but wonderful,” noted a fourth user.
And someone else added: “Paul Bradley was excellent tonight, so emotional. Phil and Nigel’s friendship is unique. Can’t wait to see Grant return and be reunited with them both.”
