Tax rebate for scrapping vehicles may be doubled

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways proposes doubling the motor vehicle tax rebate for scrapping older vehicles. Buyers scrapping BS-II or older vehicles can receive up to a 50% discount when purchasing new vehicles. This change aims to reduce vehicular pollution by encouraging the disposal of older, high-emission vehicles.
